About Us....

We are Ken and Karen Faulkner. We live here at Alpine Meadows with our youngest son Owain and dog Roly,

  a very friendly beagle who loves to go for walks, swim and unfortunately, escape at every possible opportunity

We first discovered the Salzkammergut when we visited Salzburg for our silver wedding anniversary.

We were instantly enchanted by the magical spell of the area and in the following years took at least two holidays a year out here. Finally, we were lucky enough to be able to move here in July 2007, having found and fallen in love with our new home, Alpine Meadows, perched on a hillside, overlooking meadows, forest and mountains in a quiet corner on the edge of the spa town of Bad Ischl.

We are fortunate that when the sun shines in Bad Ischl,

 and it seems to shine a lot, we are able to enjoy its warmth and the beautiful countryside from our garden.

Our favourite time of the year is the end of May when the early summer sun makes the wild flowers in the meadows even brighter

 and you can see young birds, deer and other mammals and reptiles if you are quiet and patient enough. We are sure you will love the Salzkammergut whatever time of the year you visit.
