About
Us
We
are Ken and Karen Faulkner. We live here at Alpine Meadows
with our youngest son Owain and dog Roly, a very friendly
beagle who loves to go for walks, swim and unfortunately,
escape at every possible opportunity
We
first discovered the Salzkammergut when we visited Salzburg
for our silver wedding anniversary. We were instantly
enchanted by the magical spell of the area and in the
following years took at least two holidays a year out
here. Finally, we were lucky enough to be able to move
here in July 2007, having found and fallen in love with
our new home, Alpine Meadows, perched on a hillside,
overlooking meadows, forest and mountains in a quiet
corner on the edge of the spa town of Bad Ischl.
We
are fortunate that when the sun shines in Bad Ischl,
and it seems to shine a lot, we are able to enjoy its
warmth and the beautiful countryside from our garden.
Here
are a couple of picture of us and our dog Roly, in our
back garden, enjoying the sun at the end of March.

The
scenery in Salzkammergut is beautiful at any time of
the year whether it is springtime with the multitudes
of wild alpine flowers in the meadows, in the summer
when the lakes are cool and refreshing places to relax
after a walk in the mountains, in the autumn with the
bright browns and bronzes of the trees or winter when
the mountains are cloaked in brilliant white snow.
Our
favourite time of the year is the end of May when the
early summer sun makes the wild flowers in the meadows
even brighter and you can see young birds, deer and
other mammals and reptiles if you are quiet and patient
enough. We are sure you will love the Salzkammergut
whatever time of the year you visit.
We
look forward to seeing you here.
Best
wishes
